Oh Toronto. :D
Before I’d always taken it for granted. This trip, I started to appreciate it in a whole new light. Starting to consider what it would be like living there… Not anytime soon, but maybe someday.

Mr. Steele! When are you coming to Toronto to visit me and Ms. Aly Tribula?! *waves for him to come over*
This is an extremely valid question… also one that I need to think about/plan/make happen. The worst part is I was in Toronto not once, but twice about two weeks ago on my way to NYC… (I took a bus through there… yes, it’s longer… but, it was a free ticket down… who am I to argue with cheap)
This will have to happen soon! :D
Tamil protesters block downtown Toronto highway
This is just crazy… apparently the protestors are still there at this very moment. This is the same group that spent 16+ days on parliament hill last month.
These people are saying that this disruptive behaviour is their only choice. They seem to think that the Canadian Federal Government can simply wave a magic wand to make a cease-fire happen in the civil war that’s taking place in Sri Lanka… I know that Canada is an influential country but at the same time I feel like they are over-simplifying the matter. Shouldn’t they be going to the UN or something anyway?
I saw on the CBC news story on TV one of the protestors saying something like “we have no choice. Just think, if you were in our position you’d be doing the same thing.” I’m sorry but frankly I wouldn’t be doing the same thing. I’d be there. Instead of trying [vainly] to apply pressure to a third-party government by pissing off the local populace, I’d be there trying to apply pressure to my government or the warring factions, if possible. But that’s just me.
One last thing…. I have trouble with those saying that blocking traffic is non-violent…. if that’s the case, then, PLEASE explain to me why blocking someone’s way is considered assault under the criminal code of Canada? *shrug*
